Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Celebrates Cardiac Rehabilitation Week

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation department is joining the National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week to draw attention to the role of cardiac rehabilitation in reducing the potentially devastating effects of heart disease.  Heart is still number one killer of Americans.

Patients of any age being treated for a broad range of heart conditions can benefit from cardiac rehabilitation.  These conditions may include a heart attack, coronary bypass or valve surgery, other cardiac interventions such a stent, balloon, pacemaker, or implantable cardioverter defibrillator.  Cardiac rehab can also help patients who have a long history of heart disease and chronic chest pain.

Shown in the photo with Claxton-Hepburn’s Gerry Hourihan, PT, ACLS certified cardiac rehab coordinator, is Mr. Edmund Cole, who has been participating in the different phases of Claxton-Hepburn’s cardiac rehabilitation program since 2013.  Ask your provider is cardiac rehabilitation is right for you.  Your tomorrow is worth defending.
