Diabetes Support Group to Meet at Claxton-Hepburn

Managing diabetes is challenging.  Monitoring glucose levels, maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly and balancing medications are challenges most people with diabetes deal with every day.  Diabetes can be overwhelming.  It is tough to change lifelong habits and often the benefits are far in the future.  For many people, meeting with other people who are experiencing the same challenges is a positive and effective way to discuss diabetes issues.  There are strategies that can help.

On Thursday, May 18, at 4:00 p.m., in the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s auditorium, Karen Cole, RN, BSN, Certified Diabetes Educator, will be facilitating a Diabetes Support Group.  An open forum for diabetes related discussion will be held.  This is a free support group and family and friends are welcome.

If you are interested in forming a network with other people struggling with diabetes, consider attending this meeting.  If you have any questions, Mrs. Cole can be contacted at 315-713-5181.
