American Heart Month is right around the corner, which means it is time for organizations like Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center partner with the American Heart Association to hand out hats—Little Hats, to be exact. The American Heart Association and The Children’s Heart Foundation are working together to collect and distribute red hats to babies born during the month of February to help raise awareness of heart health and congenital heart defect. The Little Hats, Big Hearts program raises awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of Americans, and congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the country. Little Hats, Big Hearts began in Chicago in 2014. Thanks to thousands of volunteers across the country, Little Hats, Big Hearts is now in 39 states and counting. Claxton-Hepburn is proud to partner with the American Heart Association promoting the Little Hats, Big Hearts program. To learn more, contact your local American Heart Association Chapter.
