Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Highlights Diabetes Education Staff

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center joins in recognition of the American Diabetes Association’s National Diabetes Education Week, November 5-11, to acknowledge our diabetes education staff for a job well done.  Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Karen Cole, RN, BSN, and Shannon VanHouse, RN, BSN, who is currently working towards her CDE, provide one-on-one and group informational sessions for those with diabetes.  One-on-one discussions with your diabetes educator help you learn how to be more active, learn healthy coping skills, healthy eating, monitoring blood sugar levels, problem-solving, reducing risks and complications, and taking medications. Claxton-Hepburn also offers classes that provide current and comprehensive information that adheres to the standards of the American Diabetes Association.  To learn more, visit us at claxtonhepburn.org/diabetes or call 315-713-5181.  Your tomorrow is worth defending.  Shown in the photo are Cole and Van House.
